In summer you can visit the famous West-Frisian market. On 10 consecutive Thursdays as from the end of June visitors can meet with the folklore of this area. These days start around a quarter to ten in the morning with a procession through the centre of Schagen. The participants go dressed in traditional clothing. Also traditional vehicles such as farmer carriages and old bicycles can be seen.

Every Thursday there is a different theme to be enjoyed. One Thursday is the day of the traditional clothing, another is the day of the traditional dances and there is a day for a game called "ringsteken" where people on horses try to cath rings with long poles.
